WOW! What a wonderful weekend we had at our 40th Marathon Seafood Festival. A big thanks to all involved. We had nearly 500 volunteers, 220+ vendors, an estimated 22,000+ visitors, and a beautiful weekend of fun and SEAFOOD. Speaking of seafood we went through nearly 625 pounds of stone crab, 1,300 pounds of mahi, 400 pounds of butter….that’s right I said BUTTER, 1000 lbs lobster, and 155 kegs of beer! If there’s one thing we know about our attendees, it’s that you like to eat and drink! Being the 40th year this year, we added a few new things including supplying some fun yard games like Giant Jenga and some cornhole sets. We also added a fun photo booth and Instagram photo contest. Our winner of the photo contest this year was Suzanne Ferguson from Palmetto Bay, Florida. We have sent her a goodie bag of this years shirt, hat, and mug. If you forgot to pick up yours at the festival come on by our office, we still have some for sale. As always our entertainment did fantastic, one of our returning favorites was Amber Leigh.
We are having our wrap up meeting this week to get some final numbers and can’t wait to update you on the donations and money raised for our local community. For now I’ll send you off with a few photos from the event and we will SEA you next year March 11 & 12th 2016.
