Special Virtual Presentation: Creating the First Armored Diving Suit
Islamorada: Join the History of Diving Museum as it hosts Christopher Steinbiß, historian of German culture and technology. He will take us through the invention of the world’s first armored diving suit, the HAGENUK Deep Sea Diver, and its role in the popular culture of technologies in modern Germany. Presentation will take place at 12:30 PM EST over Zoom, with a viewing room available in the Museum’s Bauer Diving History Research Library. Christopher will be broadcasting from Germany. Guided tours will take place this same day, free to Islamorada locals, at 11 AM and 2 PM. Donations welcome.
