The Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit 501c(6) organization that is dedicated to supporting, advocating and promoting our local business-members here in the Florida & MIddle Keys.
Our Chamber has a long history and has been successful in representing our local businesses. We continuously look for new innovative ways to better represent and support our business-members as well as attract visitors to our beautiful Islands.

Daniel Samess - CEO
Daniel and his wife Liz came to Marathon in 2004 after completing their graduate studies. In 2007 Daniel took over as the Marathon Chamber’s CEO and time has flown by ever since. Daniel’s wife Liz started her own interior design business, and they have two beautiful daughters (Ava and Emily). Daniel has worked hard to help grow the Chamber from just over 350 to over 540 members and has since added many programs to promote, educate, inform, and support the chamber’s valued business-members. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys fishing, exercising, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his family. “It is an honor and a privilege to work with such an amazing staff at the Chamber, as well as serve our local businesses and community, all for the greater good!”
Rhonda Holding - Tourist Information Specialist
Rhonda has lived in the Florida Keys for over forty years and coming from Northern Illinois. She was married and had a business here with him for over 30 years. She has 2 beautiful children, Jaime & Kelly. Rhonda has been with the Chamber helping visitors and locals for over 5 years. She can answer almost every question she gets!
Jeanine D'Amico - Accounting & Events Manager
Jeanine moved to the Florida Keys in June of 2010 from Long Island, NY. She has a BA from Mt. St. Mary College and a Master’s Degree from Stonybrook University. She has been the Office Manager of the Marathon Chamber for the last 10 years and has tweaked her position to travel full time while working remotely. She and her adoring husband Patrick, lovable pup Marla and baby boy Luke are out seeing the world, but she’ll always be back to the keys for the Marathon Seafood Festival.
Susan Schneider- Tourist Information Specialist
Susan, her husband Cory, and their dog Yoda moved from Palm Beach County 12 years ago. They have been fortunate enough to live in the Florida Keys, residing in Marathon, and loving life living on their powerboat. Susan and Cory have two amazing children and four beautiful grandchildren, whom they adore. Susan works part-time at our Visitor Center, and the rest of her time as a private duty nurse. Susan enjoys helping our locals and visitors make the best of their time here with information about Marathon and the surrounding area. So come down to the Visitor Center and wrack her brain!
Erika Goodman - Office Manager & Sales Coordinator
Erika has lived in the Florida Keys with her husband, RD, since 2013. She came down from West Palm Beach, with a degree in Business Management and Hospitality from FAU. GO Owls! Erika has worked with us since December 2016 and had started up front in the Visitor Center and now is here to help our members and join new ones. She loves to spend time with her Daughter River, and her son Hurley.
Laura Hackney - Member Services & Tourist Information Specialist
Laura moved to Florida in the fall of 2012 from the home state of Mississippi. She and Vince moved to Marathon in April 2018 to live their dream life in the Florida Keys. She joined our Visitor Center team in July of 2020 and enjoys helping all of our locals and visitors with information about Marathon and the surrounding area. Laura and Vince spend most of their time enjoying life on the beautiful Keys water aboard their sailboat.
