The Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit 501c(6) organization that is dedicated to supporting, advocating and promoting our local business-members here in the Florida & Middle Keys.
Our Chamber has a long history and has been successful in representing our local businesses. We continuously look for new innovative ways to better represent and support our business-members as well as attract visitors to our beautiful Islands.

Daniel Samess
CEO
Daniel and his wife Liz came to Marathon in 2004 after completing their graduate studies. In 2007 Daniel took over as the Marathon Chamber’s CEO and time has flown by ever since. Daniel’s wife Liz started her own interior design business, and they have two beautiful daughters (Ava and Emily). Daniel has worked hard to help grow the Chamber from just over 350 to over 540 members and has since added many programs to promote, educate, inform, and support the chamber’s valued business-members. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys fishing, exercising, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his family. “It is an honor and a privilege to work with such an amazing staff at the Chamber, as well as serve our local businesses and community, all for the greater good!”
Erika Goodman
Office & Events Manager
Erika has lived in the Florida Keys with her husband, RD, since 2013. She came down from West Palm Beach, with a degree in Business Management and Hospitality from FAU. GO Owls! Erika has worked with us since December 2016 and had started up front in the Visitor Center and now is our office and events manager. She loves to spend time with her kids River, and Hurley.
Rhonda Holding
Tourist Information Specialist
Rhonda has lived in the Florida Keys for over forty years and coming from Northern Illinois. She was married and had a business here with him for over 30 years. She has 2 beautiful children, Jaime & Kelly. Rhonda has been with the Chamber helping visitors and locals for over 5 years. She can answer almost every question she gets!
Amanda Matyi
Member Services & Sales Coordinator
Amanda started off in the Keys, lived in Tennessee, Alaska and Hawaii, then came back to Marathon! She has a beautiful daughter named Mila, whom she loves spending her time with. In her spare time she loves to kick it at the beach, and hang out with her friends. Amanda is bringing in new members, and maintaining great relationships with them.
